Emerging technologies in agriculture

Agricultural technologies appeared from the very moment agriculture emerged, technology being understood as the set of techniques and procedures that make it possible to solve practical problems. Technologies have evolved in parallel with agriculture, which has resulted in an increasingly efficient management of the agricultural process. In other words, technology is not a new concept in agriculture; on the contrary, it has been a concept that has permanently accompanied the agricultural process. This book provides an introduction to the technologies that have most recently been added to the management of crops and livestock in order to make the production process more efficient, some of them novel, others less so, but still novel in terms of their incorporation in the agricultural field. This book is conceived so that in the same text the general ideas of these technologies are obtained, achieving that the reader acquires the general knowledge of topics as dissimilar as cellular biology, electronics, telecommunications and nanotechnology applied in the improvement of the efficiency of the agricultural process.
