Endometrial Carcinoma

During the past 20 years, endometrial carcinoma has continued to increase in frequency and it is quite possible that this carcinoma will become the major gynecologic malignancy in the future. Endometrial carcinoma is summarized systematically and comprehensively in this monograph. New advances from around the world are reviewed, and the clinical experiences since 1958 at the Cancer Institute Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences are presented. The book is divided into seven sections which cover epidemiology and etiology, pathology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, laboratory research and medicopsychology. Major items of interest are the new combination treatment protocol using estrogen and progesterone receptor assay as an indicator of hormone therapy, and the advances presented in monoclonal antibody research which open up broad prospects for chemotherapy.
