energy efficiency in an animal feed factory: Optimisation of consumption production facilities (reactive power, power factor, THD) and maintenance

This project forms part of a policy aimed at improving efficiency, rationalisation and the management of energy consumption in all its forms at a livestock and poultry feed production plant. The specific aim of this study is to examine the plant's energy consumption, equipment maintenance and staff safety in order to optimise the operation of all aspects of the plant, both human and material. To carry out this study, all relevant energy measurements and data (active power and energy, reactive power and energy, power factor, harmonic distortion ratio) provided by the measuring instruments were collected and analysed, and inspection rounds were conducted, alongside observations and analyses of the maintenance teams' working practices. The results obtained made it possible to effectively track changes in consumption by piece of equipment and by line over time, and to assess the situation so that swift action could be taken to address excessive consumption.
