12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.12:22 En Hij zeide tot Zijn discipelen: Daarom zeg Ik u: Zijt niet bezorgd voor uw leven, wat gij zult eten, noch voor het lichaam, wat gij zult aantrekken.12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.12:23 Het leven is meer dan het vlees, en het lichaam is meer dan de kleding.12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?12:24 Let op de raven, die niet zaaien en niet maaien, die geen voorraadkamer of schuur hebben, en toch voedt God ze. Hoeveel te meer gaat u de vogels te boven?12:25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?12:25 En wie van u kan, met zorg, zijn lengte met één el vergroten?12:26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?12:26 Indien gij dan ook het minste niet kunt, waarom maakt gij u dan zorgen om de overige dingen?12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.12:27 Let op de leliën, hoe zij groeien: zij arbeiden niet, zij spinnen niet; en toch zeg Ik u, dat Salomo in al zijn glorie niet gekleed ging als een van deze.12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?12:28 Indien God dan het gras, dat vandaag op het veld is en morgen in de oven geworpen wordt, zo kleedt, hoeveel te meer zal Hij u kleden, kleingelovigen!12:29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.12:29 En vraag niet wat u zult eten of wat u zult drinken. Wees niet twijfelachtig.
