Entering into the Wealth of God's Kingdom: By Worshipping with Tithes and Offerings

Did you realize that giving to God in the offering at your church is a faith interaction between you and God? We give in trust and obedience to God, and we are to expect a miracle response from God. Many have failed to realize that giving is a faith interaction as well as an act of worship. Sadly, it has become something that is a religious obligation tending more to legalism than an interaction with God. Too many people give out of a ritual with no expectation-this is not faith! The LORD tells us that if we give, then He will produce a supernatural harvest for us. He will not only abundantly bless the works of our hands, but will also pour out a supernatural blessing. He will open the windows of heaven and pour out more than we can contain! (Mal. 3:10). God has promised to produce a harvest from our giving (2 Cor. 9:6). We learn to trust God with one of the most important things that we have-our money. When our heart is connected to the Kingdom of God and His purposes, then the passion to honor God like Jacob did will also be in us.We know that worship was first defined in the offering, and the offering defined worship. Many believe that the offering, including tithing, belongs in the Old Testament-a practice with no place in the life of a New Testament believer. This is not what the bible teaches. Abraham gave a tithe to Melchizedek as an act of worship and honoring the LORD (Gen. 13:18). Jacob vowed a tithe to the LORD when he set up an altar of worship. Long before the Law of Moses existed, giving was already established as an act of worship. The Law did not create the tithe and offerings; it only codified what was already true.There has to be faith in the act of offering up our finances to God. When we do, it is like the sacrifices of old; it's a sweet-smelling fragrance to God (Phil 4:18). Abel offered a sacrifice by faith (Heb. 11:4), and God gave him a testimony of righteousness. Every offering in the Old Testament pointed forward to the greatest offering of all: God giving His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.This book examines the biblical pattern of tithes and offerings from Abel until today. It shows that giving was not just a ritual performed, but worship. God established a law of sowing and reaping through giving as a means to abundantly bless His people. Trusting God with our lives develops supernatural faith that produces miraculous results. Those who give in faith will see God provide for them out of His riches in glory.
