Entrepreneurship, Gender, Territory, Government Funding: The Panama Case

The search for so-called entrepreneurship ecosystems in our Latin American countries leads, first and foremost, to the proposal of allocating public resources, accompanied by technical and professional support that ensures the achievement of the strategic objectives set forth in specific plans and programs through public policies. That is why the purpose or objective of this study is to analyze, from territorial, sectoral, and gender perspectives, the entrepreneurship ecosystem created by the allocation of public funds through the seed capital program of the government agency in Panama. To this end, the methodological process involves combining a series of nonparametric tests-such as the Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney U, and Spearman tests-since, given that the assumptions of normality and homogeneity of the data are not met, these tests allow for the evaluation of the various hypotheses proposed in each process, as well as measuring the relationship or association between variables based on the reports generated using the cross-tabulation technique with the support of SPSS software.
