Environmental Studies

Environmental studies is an interdisciplinary field that examines the interactions between humans and the environment. It encompasses a wide range of topics, including ecology, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, and social sciences, to understand and address environmental issues. The primary goal of environmental studies is to promote sustainable development by balancing human needs with environmental protection and conservation. The environment includes all living and non-living components of the Earth, such as air, water, soil, plants, animals, and microorganisms. Human activities, including industrialization, deforestation, pollution, and overexploitation of natural resources, have significantly impacted the environment, leading to global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation. Environmental studies aim to analyze these challenges, identify their causes, and propose effective solutions. One of the critical areas of environmental studies is climate change. The increase in greenhouse gas emissions, particularly carbon dioxide (CO¿) and methane (CH¿), due to burning fossil fuels and deforestation has led to global warming.
