Escape From the EMP: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Thriller

Tilla Smokerson was washing dishes when the sky turned green.Twelve hours a day at the hospital, two twelve-year-olds at the kitchen table, and a twenty-one-year-old son named Roman who hadn't sat down to dinner since Christmas. Then the EMP hit, and every car on the interstate died at the same instant, and the silence that followed was the loudest thing she'd ever heard.Four days later she finds out where Roman went. Men came for his truck because it was the only vehicle in East Austin that still started. He handed over the keys. They took him anyway. Now Tilla is heading west across four hundred miles of collapsing Texas with a twenty-three-year-old woman named Shelby who threw herself in front of those men, and a sixty-one-year-old prepper named Chip who has a bullet in his side and won't stop talking. Their destination is a name whispered by everyone moving west and no one moving east: Rust Reach. A place out in the Chihuahuan Desert where the lights are supposedly still on.Between here and there: toll bridges, tattooed raiders, towns that have already learned to shoot first, and a convoy of sixteen vehicles run by a man named Vernon Crow. And Crow has been waiting eleven years to settle a score with Chip.
