And so, she created an alter ego named Susie to live through vicariously on life's edge. Having evolved from being involved with international espionage and prostitution in previous offerings, she decided to have Susie delve into what she believed was the seamy world of adult entertainment and pornographic movies. But Susie never did anything from the outside looking in. Susie always worked from inside of whatever world she explored. Knowing the birth of pornographic cinema was rooted in San Francisco, Mary believed that would be a good place for Susie to make the proper connections to gain access to the industry. Upon her arrival, she did make the right connections, and yet, those connections didn't lead to a story but led to love.
