This paper presents the results of a study conducted on the extraction of oil from Kashobwe fry using an organic solvent through maceration in an ethanol and ether medium, which allows for the extraction of both neutral lipids and complex lipids. The specific objective is to evaluate the capacity and determine the efficiency of the solvents (petroleum ether and ethanol) in extracting oil from Kashobwe fry. Among the methods for oil extraction are those that use organic solvents and those that use cooking and pressing. The methodology included a literature review providing an overview of fish oil and its extraction; the method used was hot maceration; the process began with sampling, grinding, weighing on an analytical balance, and allowing the sample to macerate in the solvent for several hours at varying temperatures; several parameters, such as temperature, time, and solid-to-liquid ratio, were varied.
