Bol 57.8% of residents are aware of the existence of a regulatory framework for waste management, but this framework remains largely unapplied or unknown. Statistical analysis reveals a highly significant association between low involvement of public and private players and poor waste management, with a calculated probability of 0.001. The results show that 97.8% of respondents deplore the inadequacy of facilities, in particular the absence of an official depot, but this factor is not statistically associated with the quality of management. The results on socio-cultural factors show that community participation in sanitation activities is limited due to insufficient awareness-raising sessions, which is at the root of poor waste management. As far as economic factors are concerned, the ability to pay for a private waste disposal service is not statistically linked to poor management, as the calculated probability is 0.121, but the high cost of sanitation services prevents households from using this sanitation service. In addition, the absence of an economic incentive to recycle is a significant factor with regard to the use of sanitation services.
