Faculty of Political Science and Economics Rio Grande, RS: Constitution influences on the development municipality (1955 to 1969)

The research work aims, in the field of History of Education, to study historical aspects of the Faculty of Political and Economic Sciences of Rio Grande in the time frame from 1959 to 1969. It addresses how the Faculty was established, built, and the contributions it made to the municipality during a period when the local economy was experiencing difficulties. Throughout the study, it is possible to learn details about the first facilities, the faculty, staff and students, the admission process, the subjects in the curriculum and the graduation ceremonies. It also addresses the particularities of the struggle to gain recognition for the course, a battle that lasted several years. It provides a detailed account of the institution's school culture, its values, its practices, and the way in which it instilled certain behaviours. It presents a detailed breakdown of the institution's budget and how its revenues were spent over the various years of the period under study. Finally, quantitative and qualitative data are presented to understand how the institution contributed to local development, thus fulfilling one of the purposes for which it was created.
