Fallacies Arising from Ambiguity

The author of this book has, over many years, made significant contributions to the detailed analysis of practical reasoning case studies, thus providing solid foundations for new and more applicable formal logical systems. The work provides analyses of the various fallacies arising from ambiguities themselves, and also by basing these analyses on a new pragmatic approach to the concept of ambiguity. It argues that ambiguity is itself ambiguous, and not easy to define clearly. However, it does advocate a new classification of types of ambiguity that is shown to be useful in helping to evaluate cases of fallacies arising from ambiguity.
