Feet are highly complex structures, developed and perfectly adapted to provide stability, balance, mobility, momentum, support, and distribute loads and impacts, with the versatility and efficiency necessary for our daily movements and physical activities in general. This study proposes a bibliographic analysis to highlight the importance of feet for children's motor development based on three main areas of study: the anatomical structures and their biomechanical function in the feet; the motor development of children in childhood; and the learning of fundamental motor skills with the feet at school.
