Finding My Quiet: a Story About Stillness in Big, Busy World

Yama loves her big, bright, busy world - the rumble of the market, the singing birds, the tinkling of Mama's wind chimes. But sometimes all the sounds crash together like thunder, and her whole body wants to say: Stop. I need a quiet place.Mama asks where quiet lives, and Yama sets out to find it - through the red earth baobab path, the iroko grove, and all the way to the warm sand of the Senegalese coast. And at the very end of her search, she discovers that quiet was never somewhere she had to go. It was already inside her, beating steadily in her own heart.Perfect for: Children ages 3-8 who experience sensory overwhelm, big emotions, or the need to find calm. A gentle introduction to mindfulness, self-regulation, and the power of stillness rooted in West African landscapes and warmth. From Pawa Seyni and Pawa Press, part of the Yama Series.
