An ultra-right-wing party led by politician Carter Williams targets popular Canadian statesman Vachan Sharma in an attempt to forestall his bid to become Premier of Nova Scotia. Sharma, his wife Elizabeth Wu, and their daughter Chloe are taking a short vacation aboard a cruise ship in the Caribbean. Chloe makes friends with a talented young pianist named Caitlin Sheridan, who is entertaining aboard ship.
