For the Life of World: Sent with True Story: 3

The Christian life was never meant to stop at the church door. You have been welcomed by grace. You have learned to abide in Christ. Now comes the question: What does a formed Christian life look like when it moves outward into the world? For the Life of the World is the third and final volume in Scott A. Bond's From the Table to the World discipleship trilogy. It explores what it means to live as a disciple who has already been sent into the ordinary places of life: work, family, neighborhood, church, suffering, conflict, culture, and conversation.Beginning with Jesus' words, "As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you," the book develops a Christian vision of mission rooted in the life of the triune God and the Kingdom of Christ. Along the way, readers will consider the stories that shape contemporary culture, learn discernment without fear, examine stewardship and vocation, face suffering and conflict faithfully, and practice speaking Christian hope with clarity and humility. Each of the twelve sessions includes discussion questions, a practical exercise, a memory verse, and a Tuesday Test designed to carry discipleship out of the classroom or small group and into the actual week. This is not a book about becoming a professional missionary. It is about recognizing that every Christian has already been sent. The table was never meant to become a hiding place. We receive grace there. We learn to abide there. We are nourished there. Then we rise. For the life of the world. Go!
