Alexei Cunningham didn't even know about the Crows, until a few months into his freshman season. Then they claimed their tenth straight victory. Not unheard of, given the Monarchs have done that countless times. What was sensational was the fact that Lucas Noble, the Crow's freshman goalie and the hockey world's golden prince, didn't yield a single goal for all ten games. No one would shut up about his prowess, so Alexei was stuck sharing the spotlight for his record-breaking goals with the Crows' goalie. They also couldn't shut up about how desperately they wanted to see the clash between the top goal scorer and the best goalieAlexei and Noble didn't face off against each other until their sophomore year. Then, in the semifinals of the Frozen Crown, they played against each other for the first and last time because that night, when it was all said and done, Noble asked him to transfer. And Alexei said yes. Now, with a murder of underdogs at his back and the golden prince at his side, Alexei stands on the precipice of a season against the pack of reigning champions. The pack he left when he took the promise made to him by a stranger at least, a rival at best.
