Bol Fiona Curran is a poet, experimental filmmaker and sonic artist. She holds an M.A. in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia. Her poetry has been published widely in the UK & Ireland. Her previous collections, The Hail Mary Pass, and Never Try to Outswim a Bear, were published by Wreckingball Press. She has presented her poetry on Resonance fm. Radio. For Want of a Hat, is published by Dancing Girl Press, and is a meditation on fashion, texture, colour and adornment of all kinds. Most recently Fiona was commissioned by Poets in Vogue to 'speak to' a famous poet's clothing; she chose the red "reading dress" of Anne Sexton. Her film work explores an extreme form of poetic portraiture and looks to reveal the emotional essence of her subjects, the pin prick of light. Her films have been shown nationally and internationally, most recently at the exhibition With What We Have Left. As a sonic/sound artist, she has presented works over the years at the RedSonic Festival, Car Boot Art Fair, Literary Kitchen and Every Day is Spatial. While today was a 'yellow' day, she'll only stop wearing black when they invent a darker colour.
