Foreign transnational companies in Kazakhstan's oil sector: Can a law on lobbying resolve the corruption industry?

An attempt is made to examine the political influence of foreign transnational oil companies in Kazakhstan, particularly in the area of political lobbying, using public sources (mass media, scientific and analytical materials). Today, very little research is being done on the political influence of the above-mentioned companies, as all primary sources, such as reports from ministries and information from companies about their budgets, are confidential. Kazakh researchers who write about this topic do not focus solely on the issue of political influence in their work, but provide an overview of the activities of these companies. The author contributes to Kazakhstani science in the field of research into the political influence and lobbying activities of foreign TNUs in Kazakhstan. The scientific work and its conclusions could be used to analyse the current development of the fight against corruption in Kazakhstan.
