FREE 2B FAT****

Things hit boiling point this festive season for the former detective and family man. The only joy left for Ray, now divorced and living a solitary life working round-the-clock as a security guard in a swanky Manhattan skyscraper, is seeing his kids. When his ex-wife snatches that away too... he's done. On New Year's Eve, Ray plans to tell the world from the empty high-rise he's paid to protect that fathers have rights. His plans go haywire when he runs into work-swamped Rani and her colleague Jack. Night and day worlds of blue collar and white collar clash and collide in heated and hilarious ways. Ray and Rani finally discover how much they have in common. Empowered by this true understanding of themselves and each other, they stand strong against their bullies... but, as easy as the flick of a switch, their unity is ended and plunged into darkness.FREE 2B FAT** is the second of Somi De Souza's Freedom Trilogy plays."Rich, funny... sparkling dialogue... vividly captured... with humour and theatrical vim. A deftly theatrical sense of economy. Ray is a brilliantly observed character." - The Royal Court Theatre, London"The dialogue is written naturally. I like how the writer has taken a very ordinary circumstance and given it an exciting twist which opens an avenue of interesting societal questioning." - Finborough Theatre, London"Somi is clearly a very talented writer." - Playful Productions (Wicked, Kinky Boots, Shrek, MJ The Musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
