Almost a century ago Marc Bloch pointed out that history is the "science of men in time" in an attempt to make historians aware that time is a fundamental dimension in which men are immersed and with which there is always a constant dialogue. The relationship of men with time can be studied in many ways: either as experiential time (temporality), as vital time (biological), as social time (institutional), as cosmological time (objective time), or as historical time (relationship with the past). Moreover, within the classical conception of time studies, it is normal to find a fundamental division: objective, real, physical time, external to man, and subjective, imaginary, psychological time, internal to man.
