The Book of Kells is one of the artefacts most widely associated with Irish national identity and culture. Described by James Joyce as “the most purely Irish thing we have,” the illuminated manuscript has a long and complex history, one that has been retold and preserved since its creation in the 9th century. Originally released under the name Generatio as a handstitched hardcover journal in 1998, we are delighted to creatively reimagine the design, giving it new life while still rooted in the original folio design from The Book of Kells.
