Bol This book presents a comprehensive geochemical and petrogenetic study of the Hyderabad Granite Batholith, one of the major felsic plutonic complexes of Peninsular India. Integrating field observations, petrographic analysis, and whole-rock geochemical data, the study examines the origin, evolution, and tectonic significance of granitoids exposed in and around the Hyderabad region. Major, trace, and rare earth element geochemistry generated using XRF and ICP-MS techniques is used to constrain magma evolution, source characteristics, and petrogenetic processes. Petrographic features such as perthitic and myrmekitic intergrowths, microgranular enclaves, and mineral alteration patterns indicate a complex magmatic history involving fractional crystallization, magma mixing, and crustal reworking. Geochemical signatures suggest metaluminous to peraluminous affinities, while tectonic discrimination diagrams indicate arc-related magmatism in a continental subduction setting. A two-stage petrogenetic model explains granitoid generation during the late Archean and provides insights into Archean crustal growth within the Eastern Dharwar Craton.
