Lead by four Girls of the Fire, the remnants of the Clan of the Gray Bear make one last-ditch effort to save the world causing the government to launch a search and destroy campaign against the coven.Girls of the Fire is a spiritual fantasy rife with political and cultural satire. The story is both dystopian and utopian, hopeless and (hopefully) inspiring, degrading and sublime. In short, Girls of the Fire is about being human and our capacity for being inhuman.Unlike the first three stories in the Lodge of the Gray Bear Saga, Girls of the Fire is not hyper focused on the LGBTQ+ community, though several of the characters reside inside the Rainbow. The reason for this change in tone is simple: at the time of the telling of this story, the trans and intersex identities have been exterminated; and the gays, queers, and lesbians live in the shadows.
