Discussing globalization is not a new topic. Yet it continues to reveal insights that make the study of this concept relevant today. Beginning with its historical origins-cosmopolitanism-this study highlights the flaws of globalization, emphasizing its negative repercussions on the development of the African continent. Africa's responsibilities regarding the current precarious state of its development are also addressed. Adopting a thoughtful, critical, and reflective approach, this work aims to contribute to the discussion on a new theory or theories of development in Africa. It proposes a path of intercultural dialogue as an alternative to the tension between the inevitable interdependence of different parts of the world and the general excesses of all-encompassing globalization. This new model of globalization naturally allows every people in the world to play their part. The African people, for their part, are called upon to increase the weight of their influence in this dialogue. Institutions, the educational system, and technoscientific development are the primary means to this end.
