Bol The overall objective of this study is to contribute to improving fish farming production and productivity in Cameroon in general, and that of Clarias in particular. Between April and September 2010, the effect of age at transfer to ponds on the survival and growth of Clarias gariepinus (Burchell, 1822) was studied at the IRAD Foumban Station fish farm in Koupa Matapit (5°45.826'N and 10°48.516'E) in the highland Sudano-Guinean zone of Western Cameroon. To this end, 12 comparable groups (age, total length, average weight), each consisting of 1,750 fry, were divided into four treatments-T4, T7, T10, and T13-with three replicates each, corresponding respectively to transfers at 4, 7, 10, and 13 days of age. Each batch was assigned one of the 12 simulated ponds, selected at random. The characteristics of the simulated ponds were comparable.
