We are pleased to present the 2017 Guide to Laboratory Tests. The guide consists of two parts: The first part includes general practical information on specimen collection with the aim of optimizing the pre-analytical phase. The second part includes general information on medical tests, presented in alphabetical order by test name, followed by a description of each parameter: its physiological aspect, role or function, the purpose of the assay, typical values, and the main pathophysiological variations for each element. The purpose of this document, intended for clinical laboratory scientists, is to provide them with additional information and answers to their questions.
