The poems included in this collection span several decades. Naturally, these works possess considerable diversity in subject matter, craft, and expression. Over the years, the wisdom and maturity gained from various life experiences have enriched these works with greater emotion. These poems embody the pain of blisters and burns from travels on hot afternoons. Pains, both our own and those of others, seep into the veins like our own pain and, becoming self-consciousness, are transformed into words. Letters hold special significance for the poet.
