Guns of Sackets Harbor: War 1812 Historical Novel

At Sackets Harbor, survival depends on finishing a warship before the British fleet can destroy her. During the War of 1812, Tom Black is a young lawyer accustomed to weighing evidence and trusting reason. But when British forces threaten the American shipyard on Lake Ontario, statutes and arguments give way to muskets, cannon fire, and desperate choices. At the center of the struggle is the General Pike, a powerful new warship whose completion could shift control of the lake. Tom, his younger brother Jonah, the ambitious merchant Phillip, and the steadfast Abby join a village of shipwrights, farmers, soldiers, and ordinary families determined to protect the ship-and one another. As the British close in, Tom discovers that defending a community requires more than courage. Supplies must be guarded, panic contained, loyalties tested, and every advantage calculated. If the General Pike can reach the water and bring her guns to bear, Sackets Harbor may survive. If she falls, the northern frontier may fall with her. The Guns of Sackets Harbor is a stirring historical novel about sacrifice, resilience, and the ordinary people who stand together when history arrives at their door.
