Bol The intestinal microbiota is now recognized as a key player in the body's functioning, closely influencing the host's metabolism, immune response and central nervous system. However, this complex ecosystem can also act as a reservoir for multi-resistant bacteria, favoring their persistence, dissemination and potential involvement in human infections. In this context, the study of the epidemiology of resistant bacteria within the gut microbiota is of major interest, as it provides a better understanding of the latter's central role in the growing problem of antibiotic resistance, and guides the development of urgent strategies aimed at limiting its emergence and spread. The present study is part of this approach, focusing on the antibiotic resistance of Gram-negative bacteria present in the intestinal flora of the Tunisian population. The study involved 256 faecal samples collected in several regions of the country, namely Tunis, Sousse, Monastir and Mahdia.
