Clinton, a tall and skinny traveler, boards a Greyhound in Missoula, Montana, bound for Holbrook, Arizona, where he is traveling to visit his loving mother. Over three long days of highways, terminals, and changing landscapes, he meets Jake, a kind and married man who invites Clinton to sit beside him after a difficult seating mix-up. What begins as ordinary companionship gradually develops into an unexpected emotional connection filled with quiet compliments, lingering looks, and tender touches. During a long three-hour layover in New Mexico, the two become especially close, confronting feelings neither expected. When the bus finally reaches Holbrook, Clinton and Jake must say goodbye, left with the bittersweet knowledge that their brief, secret connection may never have another chance to continue.
