Bol A journey through faith, horses, and mentorship shapes a woman's life, celebrating her love for animals, community service, and the impact of cherished relationships. This memoir resonates with horse lovers and spiritually curious readers seeking inspiration. This book is a collection of people, theology, education, and events that have woven throughout my life to form me into who I am. From a young age, my passion for horses was evident as I played with horse figurines instead of dolls. My bedroom shelves overflowed with books about horses, including classics like Black Beauty and The Black Stallion series, alongside kits to build barns and paddocks. My beloved horse, Spring Mint, was my confidant for seven years, sharing secrets and even learning to drink Coke from a bottle.Throughout my journey, I was fortunate to have mentors who guided me, including theologians, riding instructors, and my supportive family. My educational path led me from Spartanburg County Schools to The Spence School in NYC, and later to Converse College, where I earned a degree in Sociology and a Master of Public Administration from USC-Columbia.Recognition came in various forms, from performing in kindergarten plays to receiving awards like the Sevier Cup at Camp Greystone. My commitment to community service is reflected in my roles as a prayer minister, vestry member, and co-founding board member of the Tryon History Museum.Through it all, my faith in God has been my anchor, shaping my identity as a friend, mother, and grandmother. This memoir captures the essence of a life enriched by love, learning, and the bonds formed along the way.
