Healing Beyond ChildbirthPersonality Traits, Resilience, Emotional Intelligence and Postpartum Psychological Distress Among Nursing Mothers in Benue North-East, NigeriaThis study examines the influence of personality traits, resilience, and emotional intelligence on postpartum psychological distress among nursing mothers in secondary hospitals in Benue North-East, Nigeria. While motherhood is often associated with joy, many women experience emotional and psychological challenges after childbirth. The research explores how psychological factors affect mothers' ability to cope during the postpartum period.Findings revealed that mothers with higher resilience and emotional intelligence experienced lower levels of psychological distress and adapted better to the demands of motherhood. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating mental health support, counseling, and emotional care into postnatal healthcare services to improve the well-being of nursing mothers and promote healthier families and communities.
