A small village relies on a glass factory for its employment (in much the same way as mining communities relied on mines) and when the owner dies taking the formula for ruby glass (given to him by a wandering apocalyptic visionary) to his grave the factory falls into decline then bankruptcy.An allegoric tale told through some of the most intense performances seen on film. A bizarre and compelling story told in a unique way by a master filmmaker.The cast were put into a hypnotic trance each day to try and re-create a feeling of mass hysteria.
