Complete militia rosters and company rolls for the Civil War. The author has included the US Census for Lowndes County for 1830, 1840, and 1850 of which there are approximately 6,500 persons being mentioned. The reader will also discover that the author has included some brief biographical sketches of these early residents. A new full name index has been included with this reprint that mentions approximately 3,700 persons
