Bol HIV/AIDS is considered a chronic condition because its management is ongoing. Indeed, it is managed through both modern and traditional medicine. This study aims to analyse the provision of HIV/AIDS care through modern and traditional medicine. To carry out this study, a qualitative method was employed as the research technique. Data collection methods were also employed. This enabled the survey of 20 PLHIV at Treichville University Hospital, including 5 PLHIV on ARVs, 5 PLHIV using traditional treatment and 10 PLHIV using combined treatments, i.e. traditional treatment and ARVs. A semi-structured interview was conducted with three modern healthcare workers, including a doctor, a pharmacist, and a doctor working in collaboration with naturopaths and traditional practitioners, as well as three traditional healthcare workers (naturopaths and traditional practitioners). Three approaches emerged from the social categories surveyed. For doctors, the management of PLHIV is based on biological analysis to determine the appropriate treatment. The combination of other treatments may exacerbate the disease.
