Anger is not always the enemy. Sometimes it is the part of us that finally says, "That hurt. That wasn't fair. I needed more." For adoptees, anger can carry questions that have been buried for years. Why did this happen to me? Why didn't someone stay? Why wasn't I given a choice? Why does rejection still affect me so deeply? And what am I supposed to do with anger toward my biological family, adoptive family, the adoption system-or even God? Holy Enough to Be Angry is a 40-day Bible study created specifically for adoptees who are ready to look honestly at anger without being shamed for feeling it. Through Scripture, thoughtful teaching, and deeply personal reflection questions, readers will explore what may be hiding beneath anger-including grief, rejection, fear, powerlessness, resentment, and the longing to belong. Each day includes Bible passages, challenging questions, and generous writing space to help readers examine their own story and discover a healthier way forward. This study does not ask adoptees to pretend the past didn't hurt or rush toward forgiveness. Instead, it invites them to bring the truth of their anger before God, allow Scripture to challenge it, and learn when anger is revealing something important-and when it may be time to put it down. Your anger gets a voice. It just doesn't have to get the final word.
