About The Author Brian Jackson was a soldier in the Rhodesian SAS, C-Squadron from 1970 to 1975 and reached the rank of Sergeant. He also became a diving, drill and weapons instructor. Before this he served in the South African army in 1965 in the Parachute Battalion in Bloemfontein. Brian’s love of the bush and wild animals, led him to find employment as the Chief Nature Conservator in the SA Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism from 1982 - 2009. The skills learnt in the SAS were invaluable in anti-poaching operations along South Africa’s northern borders.
