How serious is the threat of terrorist use weapons mass destruction?: Can it be exaggerated to excuse wars?

There have been concerns about the potential use of weapons of mass destruction by terrorists; the following is a debate as to how seriously those threats are. The seriousness of the threat depends on which terrorist groups are being considered and their aims and their armed campaigning methods.Using the term weapons of mass destruction was a handy means of trying to convince sceptical general publics that military operations or wars that their governments were already fighting or considering fighting were actually justified. Making claims about weapons of mass destruction were another way for governments to use propaganda and the media or press to gain support for their actions, or at the very least minimise the opposition to their policies. Sometimes the media and press will broadcast government claims of other countries or terrorist groups having weapons of mass destruction available and ready to use without evaluating such claims. Other times media will be more critical of official claims about the level of actual threat posed by the use of terror weapons . Yet these claims should always be evaluated as there is no guarrentee these are accurate.
