How to Strategically Engage the Cameroonian Diaspora

The primary objective of this manual is to present the types of policies and programs capable of amplifying the human and financial resources that the Cameroonian diaspora can contribute to the development of its country of origin. To this end, no action strategy can be implemented without a prior census of the members of the Cameroonian diaspora in terms of geographical distribution, professional activity, education, and skills. In short, a comprehensive mapping of Cameroonians living abroad. And since such a project has not yet been carried out by the Cameroonian authorities, the insights contained in this manual are drawn from studies conducted by certain international organizations, notably the IOM (International Organization for Migration), and, of course, from data provided by MINREX and its consular network. It simply follows that the Cameroonian diaspora is estimated at just over 4 million people, primarily settled in Africa, Europe, the Americas, etc. Their sectors of activity include healthcare, business, distribution, and industry.
