The Ibuki class was a ship class of two large armoured cruisers built for the Imperial Japanese Navy in the early 20th century. Both vessels were reclassified as battlecruisers in 1912, and both were scrapped in September 1923 under the terms of the Washington Naval Treaty. The Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN), literally Navy of the Empire of Greater Japan was the navy of the Empire of Japan from 1869 until 1947, when it was dissolved following Japan's constitutional renunciation of the use of force as a means of settling international disputes.
