Imaginary Friends

I wish everyone would stop asking if I was. Everything I do is for the sake of my story-every fight I lost, every tear shed, every night spent in hopeless thought. My friend Jenna tells me that's no way to live life. Maybe she's right. I wish I was more like her. The way she smiles, she finds the beauty in the hardest parts of life. I wish I spent more mornings in prayer. I wish I spent more evenings partying with friends. But here I am, covered in bruises and misguided dreams, writing poetry alone in a coffee shop.
