The Shaper War ended a decade ago, but their presence is not entirely gone from the galaxy. Rescued from the wreck of a bounty hunter's ship, Jack Wyndham finds himself aboard the independent vessel Lucretia with Captain Julius Lacerta and his crew of outcasts and rejects.
