Injuries Among Older Adults and the Elderly: Assessment of treatment efficacy

The high prevalence of injuries among older adults is a significant public health concern, as people over the age of 60 account for approximately 20% of the population, and 28% of all injury-related deaths occur in this age group. Older adults with injuries typically experience longer hospital stays and higher mortality rates, which can be attributed to their physical condition. Systematic assessment and improvement of the quality and accessibility of medical care will save many lives and prevent disability and long-term negative health consequences.
