Institutionalization and development from the perspective of organizations

Studying the semi-arid region is challenging, especially the Seridó Territory in Rio Grande do Norte. This paper presents various aspects that help to interpret development and coexistence with the semi-arid region. The use of the new institutional theory and the perspective of the managers of the organizations that operate in this territory has demonstrated an analytical path that can contribute to the development and promotion of public policies capable of improving quality of life and human development indicators.
