Intergenerational Relations and Future Generations - Theory, Empirics, Policy

This volume, Intergenerational Relations and Future Generations - Theory, Empirics, and Policy, inspired by the recent United Nations Declaration on Future Generations, focuses on generational changes. It tackles the twin challenge of achieving current Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and creating conditions for just international development in the post-2030 period. This volume combines a variety of social science approaches to the selected themes: conceptualizing and theorizing intergenerational relations; social structures, demographics, and intergenerational dynamics; intergenerational equity, justice, and solidarity in policy and practice; environment, technology, and the future of intergenerational bonds; and governance, participation, and intergenerational dialogue for sustainable futures. Selected chapters represent studies in disciplines such as demography, critical studies, economics, ethnography, management, social policy, and sociology. By studying intergenerational theories, solutions, projects, and programs, authors are providing an essential resource for academics, policymakers, students, and practitioners seeking support in addressing intergenerational challenges.
