Aketa Collins and Ellis Allan have been together for fifteen years, during which both have achieved notable career success and started a family. Aketa wants to get married, but Ellis is happy with their current situation and does not want to marry. As a result, Aketa decides to leave Ellis and later meets Jesse Monroe, a local business owner. She quickly develops strong feelings for Jesse but is unaware of some details of his life.
