The growing intensity of human activity and the extensive use of natural resources have increased environmental pressures, while ecological awareness has not always advanced at the same pace. Modern society must therefore integrate ecological principles into all areas of activity, particularly production, transport, culture, and governance, to protect both human health and the environment. Achieving sustainable development requires not only technological progress but also a shift in attitudes toward resource use and consumption. Advances in materials science and protection technologies contribute to cleaner production, more efficient maintenance, and extended material service life, while supporting recycling and reuse. Corrosion of metallic materials remains a major source of economic loss, safety risk, and environmental impact, prompting intensified research into effective and environmentally responsible protection strategies. This Special Issue Reprint focuses on recent progress in the development and application of advanced and multipurpose technologies used to preserve the surface integrity of structural materials, with special emphasis on the type and method of obtaining the material, the coating and drying process, as well as the influence of nanoparticles on corrosion, antibacterial, erosion and physical properties.
