The Jefferson-Davis Investigation Agency specializes in reopening cold cases tied to suspected hate crimes. One such case involves Earl and Rose Jenkins, an interracial couple who perished in a 1969 car crash in Stonewall City, Mississippi. When Earl's sister reaches out decades later, investigators Lenwood Jefferson and Cheryl Davis take on the case. For over fifty years, members of Stonewall City's Black community have insisted the crash was no accident. Yet official records-crafted by the local coroner and peace officers-painted a different story, attributing the tragedy to driver negligence. As the investigation unfolds, the carefully constructed cover-ups begin to unravel, revealing the hidden truth about how and why Earl and Rose Jenkins died.
